Procedure
At the initial stage of brain MRI scan procedure, patients are sedated through intravenous line or oral medication. They are asked to lie down on a flat, sliding table of the MRI scanning machine. Your radiologist will place a plastic coil around your head. When the process begins, this flat table slides through a large tube like structure that looks like a magnet. As soon as the table slides into this tube structure, various images of your brain will be captured. Pictures are taken from different angles of your brain to completely cover all of its sides.
If in case your brain MRI scan is performed using a contrast media, your doctor will infuse contrast substance into your system through the intravenous line created on a vein of your arm.
