Procedure
Procedure of MRI cervical spine begins with the patient’s bed being attached to an MRI machine. The machine has a scanner that is dough-nut shaped. The scanner contains magnets necessary for picturing the particular body-part. Images developed this way are cross-sectional and can be viewed by the doctor on a computer. The patient is given earphones to reduce the whirring and snapping sounds he may hear once inside the machine. The person’s breathing patterns and heart-rate both are checked simultaneously as the scanning takes place.
