Human blood comprises of four essential components – plasma, red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs) and platelets.

All RBCs, platelets and most of the WBCs are generated in the Bone Marrow; which is present as soft tissues, deep inside bones. Plasma, on the other hand constitutes 55% of total blood volume and holds all blood cells in suspension.
