HIDA scan is an outpatient procedure, so the patient does not require to remain admitted in hospital before or after the procedure. Prior to the procedure, patient might be asked to change into a surgical gown. All jewelery worn by the patient and accessories like watch, belt, should be removed prior to the scan.
